The Forest Resource & land Use Survey Team was established in April , 1954 by
the Joint Commission on Reconstruction for the purpose of the forest
resource and land use survey in Taiwan |

| 1959 |
The Forest Resource & Land Use Survey Team was reorganized and named as the
Agricultural & Forestry Aerial Survey Team in January , 1959 and transferred to
The Department of Agriculture & Forestry , Taiwan Provincial Government. In
Addition to the survey of forest resources and land use, the Survey Team was also
engaged in the topographic map production projects. |

The Agricultural & forest Aerial Survey Team was transferred too Taiwan
Forestry Bureau in July , 1973. The activities were the production of orthophoto
Base map of Taiwan , inventory of the agricultural and forest resources, remote
Sensing development |

The team was reorganized and named as the Agricultural & Forestry Aerial
Survey Institute,under the Taiwan Forestry Bureau,Provincial Department of
Agriculture & Forestry in February, 1982 to continue the activities of stereo
Plotting,orthophoto mapping , agricultural and forest resources inventory , remote
Sensing research and development. |
